MetaBrain is our uniquely developed processing chip that acts as the brain of the TV. Tucked away deep inside selected REGZA TVs, MetaBrain is the mastermind behind all of Toshiba’s smartest features. Overseeing all the fancy tech inside your TV, it’s important, but also invisible. Read on, and we’ll explain how MetaBrain improves your viewing experience.

The brains behind Resolution+
You’ll know a Resolution+ TV when you see it, thanks to the eye-popping pictures it produces, even when fed with standard definition DVDs, games consoles or TV signals.

It’s the most obvious feature overseen by MetaBrain, upscaling non-HD pictures to make them look almost as crisp as a true HD source. Behind the scenes, MetaBrain is working to make sure pictures are bright and sharp, while also juggling a ton of other features.

Overseeing AutoView
Our AutoView technology takes care of image adjustments depending on the lighting conditions around it. A tiny ambient light sensor tells the TV whether it’s positioned underneath bright lights, or stashed in a darkened room, and adjusts the image to suit.

AutoView also analyses on-screen pictures, following on from the quality boost provided by Resolution+ with an analysis of the picture to make sure contrast and backlighting are applied in the best possible way. It’s all overseen by MetaBrain, but that’s not all MetaBrain is responsible for.

Better processing with Active Vision
Thought the MetaBrain was busy already? We’re just getting started. As well as AutoView and Resolution+, MetaBrain takes care of Active Vision, a picture processing system that adjusts colour, movement and detail, as well as contrast to make sure the pictures you see are as realistic as possible.
