The global environment is close to all our hearts and its vital we find ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as reduce our individual carbon footprints. Which is why the Toshiba Carbon Zero Scheme supports projects around the works to help minimise the impact on the environment.
The concept behind the Toshiba Carbon Zero Scheme is a simple one: the CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions created in the production and life-cycle of your Toshiba laptop are directly countered through the participation in environmental projects. The impact of the emissions is thereby neutralised to become “Carbon Zero”, with no detrimental effect on the environment.
Notably, the Carbon Zero Scheme takes into account not only the emissions caused by the production and transport of Toshiba's products, but also the energy it consumes during the entire product life-cycle.
Since the Carbon Zero Scheme was first introduced in 2007, Toshiba's dedicated offset partner C02Balance has planted over 20,000 trees within dedicated Toshiba woodland at various locations across the UK. Currently its efforts are focused on energy efficiency projects within Kenya.
The beauty of the Toshiba Carbon Zero Scheme is that it proves one person can actually make a difference. And of course the more of us that do, the bigger that difference will be. Would you consider yourself eco-friendly when buying a TV or laptop? Let us know your thoughts in the Comments below.
