Yesterday saw a new addition to the mini-notebook market and we’re pleased to say it was courtesy of ourselves. The Mini NB200 is our second mini-notebook offering following the NB100 which launched late last year.
So what does the Mini NB200 offer? Firstly mini-notebooks are all about portability whether that be for use when you’re travelling or use between work and home. The Mini NB200 offers a battery life of up to nine hours if you go with the six cell battery option. Alternatively there is a three cell battery option which would provide you with three and a half hours battery on the go. Assuming you don’t leave your mini-notebook on all day you could get a few days of life out of one charge. The second side to portability is the weight. The Mini NB200 is slightly heavier than the NB100 but that’s not really a surprise given it’s a bigger device. It weighs in at just 1.1kg at its lightest.
If you’re going to be moving around then you’ll need to have a good range of connectivity options to get online and check your latest emails or chosen social media site. The Mini NB200 provides you with Bluetooth and WLAN to connect. There is also a 0.3mp web camera if you want to chat to friends online.
One of the main differences from our previous mini-notebook is the increased screen size which now comes in at 10.1” and features a TruBrite LED backlit display in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Like the NB100, the new models have an Intel Atom processor but vary between 1.6GHz Intel® Atom® Processor N270, or the new, more powerful Intel® N280 Atom® Processor, offering a clock speed of 1.66GHz. All models feature Windows XP as standard and up to 160GB HDD.
Last but by no means least is the design – perhaps the biggest differentiator between this and previous offerings. The Mini NB200 is as stylish as it is reliable. There are two versions available offering a unique textured cover which will appeal to all. The Mini NB200 will be available in four colours including black, brown, pink and white. If you were to choose the more premium model you’ll also benefit from a tiled keyboard. Have a look at the link below to see some more images.
