Toshiba’s new Camileo SX900 and Camileo SX500 aren’t run of the mill camcorders: these handheld shooters pack in Full HD video, top quality still photography, face detection and more! Read on, and we’ll break down their killer features.
Full HD as standard
Both the Camileo SX900 and Camileo SX500 are Full HD camcorders, capturing footage in pin-sharp quality, so it’ll look fantastic on the big screen in your lounge. But that’s not all.
In Full HD 1080p mode, both Camileo camcorders will record at 30 frames per second. Flick them into 1080i mode, however, and you’ll be able to capture at 60 frames per second while maintaining HD resolution, guaranteeing smooth slow motion, should you want to edit the clips later on.
Stunning stills
The Camileo SX900 and Camileo SX500 don’t just shoot video. They’re both adept at snapping still shots too, meaning you can leave the compact camera at home, and simply carry a single Camileo camcorder.
The Camileo SX900 will snap still photos at a beefy 14 megapixels, while the Camileo SX500 will snap away at 10 megapixels.
Fancy face detection
While shooting still shots, both the Camileo SX900 and Camileo SX500 can use Toshiba’s face detection technology to make sure people in frame are always in focus.
The system does more than simply lock on to one of your mates at a time, however. The Camileo SX900 and Camileo SX500 can lock on to 12 faces at once, making sure group photos look pin sharp.
Low light flair
The Camileo SX900 and Camileo SX500 both feature enhanced low light sensitivity, so they’ll keep shooting fantastic footage, even as the sun goes down. The Camileo SX900 will handle lighting as low as three lux, while the Camileo SX500 can shoot down to four lux.
Those improvements are due to Toshiba’s newly enhanced sensors, as well as high quality lenses that speed light to the sensor and grab more ambient light than ever before.
YouTube built in
What use is all this killer technology if nobody ever sees the results? Never fear, the Camileo SX900 and Camileo SX500 includes YouTube software for simple uploads to share online.
